July 01, 2015
In celebration of our 50 years, Swiftune held the Swiftune 50 Allcomers race which was open to all types of Mini’s from Spaceframe to Classic while also raising money for Dementia UK. Harvey Death was double race winner in his V8 Hayabusa-powered Spaceframe lovingly known as ‘the beast’ Second place in race 1 went to Bill Richards with Pat Ford behind him in 3rd with his Spaceframe Mini.
The race’s also featured a very special three-generation trio of Swifts out on the track for the very first time. Swiftune founder Glyn Swift was out in his Jon Mowatt 1275 GT, with his son Nick Swift in the Longman Replica 1275 GT while Hannah Swift, Nick’s daughter, competed in her first ever race just 3 weeks after passing her ARDS test in her Morris Cooper S 1071cc!
Nick Swift finished the second race in third place after a great battle with the Miglia’s of Dave Drew and Niv Burge, while second place went to Lee Jones in his Spaceframe.
